How to Split a PDF or Extract Selected Pages
Extract pages when you want one new PDF containing a selection. Split into groups when you want several output files, such as one per chapter or one per page. Both approaches copy selected pages into new documents; keep the original and inspect every output before sharing it.
Choose the output shape first
Use extraction for a single handout made from pages 1-3 and 5. Use range groups for separate chapters, placing each group's selection on its own line. Use every-N-pages when the document has fixed-size sections, and per-page splitting only when every page should become a separate file.
Selections refer to physical page positions starting at 1. Printed labels can differ when the source has a cover or introductory pages. Open the source and check these positions before entering a range.
Example: divide a six-page document
Two range groups, 1-3 and 4-6, produce two three-page PDFs. By contrast, a single extraction selection of 1-3,5 produces one four-page PDF. The distinction is about output grouping, not just which pages are included.

1. Keep the source and determine which physical pages belong in each result.
2. Choose extraction, per-page, range-group or every-N-pages mode. Enter the selection or group size appropriate to that mode.
3. Export the new documents. Pages remain in source order within each group; a reversed list is not a page-reordering command.
4. Open each output and confirm its first page, last page and total count. Use descriptive filenames so recipients receive the intended group.
Limits that affect the plan
Flekify allows up to 100 output files and 2,000 page copies, and bounds total output bytes. Overlapping range groups copy the overlapping page into more than one result, so they consume the copy budget more than once. Browser memory and the source document can also limit practical work. A 150-page PDF cannot be split into 150 separate files in one run under the output-file cap.
Encrypted documents must be unlocked first. Page removal is not redaction of information on retained pages, and rewriting should not be used to preserve digital signatures. If you need a picture of a page rather than a new PDF, use a PDF-to-image export and remember that this is not OCR.
