The tool decodes pixels and creates a new image instead of copying the original metadata container. This removes common embedded metadata such as EXIF, but is not a forensic guarantee. Inspect the downloaded file with a metadata inspector when location or authorship is sensitive. Faces, signs, screens and other identifying pixels remain visible; crop or redact those separately before sharing.
